In March of this year, Vanessa Bryant, Kobe's wife, gave a first glimpse of the Nike Kobe 5 Protro "X-Ray." This design is inspired by the iconic "5 Rings" t-shirt that Kobe once wore.
The shoe's upper features prominent finger bone graphics, mirroring the X-ray image of Kobe’s injured hand combined with his five championship rings from the commemorative tee. This design pays tribute to Kobe's indomitable spirit and resilience.
The entire shoe is predominantly covered in darker blue, with subtle white accents on the inner lining of the tongue.
The standout feature remains the all-over finger bone X-ray graphics on the upper. Compared to the initial partial reveal, these graphics now extend across a larger area, reaching all the way to the sides of the shoe, making a striking visual impact.
Additionally, the outsole is designed to glow in the dark, further enhancing the X-ray theme.
According to Sneaker News, the Nike Kobe 5 Protro “X-Ray” is set to officially release this October, priced at $190 USD.
